Special Educational Needs (SEN) at Ashburnham
Special Educational Needs (SEN) at Ashburnham
How does Ashburnham meet the needs of every Learner?
At Ashburnham we are committed to supporting every child in achieving their potential. Our Assistant Head Teacher, Maya Wittleton, is an experienced Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo). She has worked in Kensington & Chelsea as Lead SENCo and runs a number of well attended courses to share her knowledge with Newly Qualified Teachers and Experienced SENCos.
Ashburnham is committed to early identification of special needs and uses structured support (in line with the Government’s ‘Revised Code of Practice’) for assessing and working with children and their parents to meet their needs and ensure every group of learners can access the curriculum and enjoy learning. Children with additional needs have Individual Education Plans and whole class support is monitored through Intervention Overviews.
To meet the needs of all groups of learners we have a comprehensive intervention program which includes:
If you have any questions about our SEN policy or how we are supporting your child at school you can contact Maya Wittleton via the office.
