History & Geography
At Ashburnham, we provide our children with a knowledge rich history and geography curriculum, which builds on both their knowledge and enquiry based skills. The whole school curriculum is planned with chronology in mind, making links to previous learning to allow the children to build upon their own knowledge.
Each unit has a knowledge organiser that provides the key concepts that the children will learn throughout the unit.
We enhance the history and geography curriculum through extra-curricular experiences like visiting Whitstable in year 4 and trips to the British Museum. We also have whole school focus weeks in both history and geography and celebrate the learning achieved by all children.
